Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez return as Charles Haden-Savage, Oliver Putnam, and Mabel Mora in season three of “Old Murders in the Building” on Tuesday and we’ve got some cocktail ideas for you to enjoy the premiere with.
If you’re not familiar with the series, Set in a lavish Manhattan apartment building, the story revolves around three unlikely individuals who share a passion for true crime. Charles (Steve Martin), a former television star who is down on his luck, teams up with Mabel (Selena Gomez), a mysterious young woman with a complex past, and Oliver (Martin Short), a flamboyant and struggling theater director. Bonding over their love for true crime podcasts, they become fast friends, but their lives take an unexpected turn when a murder occurs in their building.
The trio seizes the opportunity to solve the murder themselves and record a podcast about their investigation. As they delve deeper into the case, they uncover secrets, intrigue, and a complex web of interconnected relationships among the building’s eccentric residents.
The show received a whopping 17 Emmy nominations for its first season and 12 nominations for its second.
In 2023, the show is up for Best Comedy Series at the Emmy Awards. Martin Short is nominated for Best Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his work on the show, and Nathan Lane is nominated for Best Male Guest Actor in a Comedy Series, amongst other nominations.
