The OnePlus 13R is getting official on January 7 during the OnePlus 13’s global launch, and so far most rumors assumed it would be a rebranded OnePlus Ace 5, which launched in China a few days ago. That’s primarily because the OnePlus 12R was a rebranded OnePlus Ace 3.
But the plot thickens, as OnePlus has already confirmed the 13R’s battery capacity, and it’s lower than the Ace 5’s. And today a new rumor posits another difference between the two – the 13R will allegedly have a telephoto camera.

Specifically, the 13R is said to be using a 50 MP main camera with Sony’s Lytia LYT-700 sensor, an 8 MP ultrawide, and a 50 MP telephoto with 2x optical zoom, using Samsung’s ISOCELL JN5 sensor. Selfies will be taken care of by a 16 MP shooter.
The Ace 5 has all the same cameras, except for the telephoto, which it replaces with a decorative 2 MP macro sensor. So if this rumor pans out, the international OnePlus 13R would be a step above the China-only Ace 5 in the camera department, while, as mentioned already, sacrificing some battery capacity for whatever reason.
